Garage Keepers Insurance

Sun Coast General offers you access to very competitive Garage Keepers markets for those clients who own businesses in the automotive repair, service, and dealership industry.

So what does a Garage Policy cover?

The garage policy is broken down into 4-Parts:

  • Other Than Auto Liability - For the covered losses associated with the garage operations where a covered auto was not involved, and;

    Covered Autos - This is for covered losses associated with the use of a covered auto.  A covered auto is a vehicle that is left with the garage for service, repair, storage, or safekeeping.

  • Much like your personal auto risks, this coverage is for when the insured is injured or suffers property damage where the responsible party is not insured or has insufficient limits to remedy the damage sustained.

  • The garage keepers coverage is for covered losses with a customer vehicle or equipment while it was left in the care and custody of the garage.  This coverage can be offered as either Direct Primary (provides coverage even if insured is not at fault), or Legal Liability (provides coverage only where the insured has liability).

  • This coverage provides for reasonable expenses incurred by the insured as a result of necessary medical or funeral services resulting from injury where there is a covered loss.
