Earlier this month, our team had the privilege of joining Warrior Sailing on the water in San Diego. But this post isn't really about sailing.
It's about the men and women who have given everything in service to this country — and come home carrying physical and mental injuries they'll carry for the rest of their lives. Sun Coast's support for Warrior Sailing has always been about them, not the sport.
Warrior Sailing was founded on a simple but powerful idea: sailing demands your full attention. When you're on the water managing a boat, adjusting to wind and current, working with your crew — there's no room for anything else. For veterans dealing with the invisible weight of PTSD, TBI, or physical injury, that focus is more than recreation. It's relief. It's restoration. It's a reason to be present.
The program gives wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans access to competitive sailing — building skills, confidence, and community that carry well beyond the dock. Veterans who arrive on Day 1 uncertain and reserved often leave as certified sailors who've rediscovered something they didn't know they were missing.
Watching that transformation up close is something that's hard to put into words.

These service members have fought for the freedoms we get to enjoy every single day. Supporting Warrior Sailing is one small way to honor that — and to help those who serve our great country find their footing on the other side.

We're already looking forward to San Diego 2027.
