At Sun Coast General Insurance Agency, we’re proud to support organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives. Warrior Sailing is one of those organizations.
Warrior Sailing trains wounded, ill, and injured veterans and active-duty service members in the sport of sailing—but what they provide goes far beyond learning how to handle a boat. Through an intensive three-day “learn to sail” program, participants gain new skills, confidence, and a renewed sense of belonging during a season of life that can often feel isolating.
Many veterans face visible and invisible challenges after their service. The transition to civilian life can be stressful, disorienting, and lonely. Warrior Sailing meets veterans where they are—creating an environment built around teamwork, trust, and shared experience. On the water, everyone has a role, and success depends on the people to your left and right. That sense of “tribe” is something many veterans deeply miss, and it’s where meaningful healing begins.
The program is fully adaptive, ensuring that every participant—whether walking, using a wheelchair, or managing other injuries—can contribute as part of the crew. With top-tier coaching and a strong emphasis on safety, Warrior Sailing empowers participants to do things they may not have thought possible again.
Since its founding, Warrior Sailing has grown into a nationwide program, hosting multiple training camps each year across the country. With more than 850 veterans trained and thousands of sailing opportunities provided, the impact is both measurable and deeply personal.
We believe in supporting organizations that restore confidence, connection, and purpose. Warrior Sailing doesn’t just teach sailing—it builds community, resilience, and a pathway forward.
